Today I will introduce a very popular food and the kids love in the countryside of Viet Nam: 100 Foot Long Rice Candy – Vietnam street food. That is “Gậy” ( I think this word is quite difficult to translate in English because it is the local word :)) Its composition depends on the preferences of each person. Rice and sugar are main components besides you can add corn , peanuts , beans or noodles. Just 1 -2 kg of rice you will have a bag of ” Gậy” to eat. People usually joke that the children do not know “Gậy” are not people in my village. Eating ” gậy” in the cold weather will be more delicious. But should not eat too much because you will feel thirsty.
FYI: There are many Vietnamese in the USA, and many Vietnamese restaurants, too. I’m sure you could probably find it if I looked hard enough
