I was NOT expecting this in Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭

I enjoyed lots of delicious street food snacks at this secret local market called Wang Lang market, that many tourists don’t really know about! I really was not expecting this in Bangkok, Thailand. I wasn’t expecting to be able to find such cheap and wonderful street food!

It’s the best way to eat like a local and enjoy many of these very cheap street food snacks. Most of these yummy street foods cost only $1!

I really was in street food heaven in Bangkok, Thailand.

This market was highly recommended to me by a lot of you guys, when I asked you lot where the local people go to eat their street food. Street food is a popular way to experience the culture and flavors of different countries, and Bangkok is no exception.

I began my street food adventure at Siam MRT station and caught the train to Saphan Taksim, which is the closest station to Sathorn pier. I then took the pier on a lovely tour down the river seeing some of the very interesting sites a long the way.

It only cost for 30 Baht ($0.87) for the ferry ticket, which is an absolute bargain!

When I arrived at Wang Lang Market and saw the variety of tasty treats that were available I wasn’t disappointed. I was also supprised that they also sell clothing and other items at this market too.
At one point I discovered someone selling fur coats! I couldn’t believe anyone would be able to wear a fur coat in Bangkok’s intense heat.

The market is really quite large and there were quite a few people there on this afternnoon.

I began the day looking for some local Thai food, and bumped into a very interesting street food stall. Selling lots of food on sticks and skewers.

I’m still not quite sure what the actualy name of this snack was, because the seller just told me it’s called egg, egg, eggy. It cost me about $0.87 for one stick of this eggy street food snack. It was really delicious with the sweet and spicy sauce!

Next up was some very yummy takoyaki, Japanese Thai fusion food which only cost me 30 Baht ($0.87) for 5 balls. Although there was some confusion when choosing the flavours.

Then I tried some very sweet monster bread, I chose salted caramel, it was really good. The bread was so fresh. And again only costing me 35 Baht ($1.01)

You guys have been telling me to try Thailand’s Five star chicken, so I went a head and bought some. It was pretty good quality chicken!

I then needed to find somewhere to sit down and eat it, so I decided to head into a restaurant that had AC, and order some food inside there so could use their seating.

I order a green curry chicken rice noodle dish, it was quite spicy but luckily I got a iced kiwi drink to wash it down.

I then discovered a local kind of fruit called Salah, it tasted very interesting with a kind of orange/lemon flavour.

After all that food it was time to explore the back streets a little bit. I discovered some very lovely parks with a lake and lots of greenery.

I then grabbed a quick grab bike costing me only 141 Baht ($4.08) to take me back to the hotel. It was quite a long journey across the city and took about 25 minutes. So I decided to give the driver a little tip.

A great day with wonderful street food at a lovely local day market with bargain prices. I’ll definitely hope to back again!
